- Test tube baby is fusion of ovum and sperm outside the body followed by implantation in uterus at 32 celled stage and further normal development to birth.
- First attempt to produce a test tube baby was made by an Italian scientist Dr. Petrucci in 1959. But this human embryo survived for only 29 days.
- The World's first test tube baby (a baby girl) named as Louise Joy Brown was born on 25th July, 1978 in Great Britain.
- India's first official test tube baby was born in mumbai on 6th August, 1986. Her name is Harsha. However, first test tube baby of india and second of world was infact born on 3rd October, 1978. Her name is Durga. This baby was not accepted officially.
